Intending to settle down in the West Country, we found ourselves changing our search location and were both drawn to the beautiful county of Sussex, being nicely positioned an hour away from London but surrounded by peace and tranquillity of nature, countryside and coastal living.

We stumbled across Barcombe, a small but quaint village set not far from the Sussex Downs national park, a short drive away from the historic town of Lewes, good connections to Gatwick and London and close enough to explore the hustle and bustle of Brighton and Hove, should we choose to.

When we found Crink House, we knew immediately that we had found ‘home’.  We had always shared a keen eye for a renovation project and a passion for transforming spaces and had a clear vision to restore Crink House and its cottages to be eco-friendly, modern but with original features restored and renovated to a high standard and luxury.

So in 2022 we took the leap to leave our wonderful life in Copenhagen behind and to start a new adventure together in the Sussex countryside.  One year later we created Crink House Hideaways, a collection of eco-friendly cottages that reflect our love for Danish design, nature, the simple pleasures of country living and a place to simply relax, recharge and reconnect.    Three simple values inspired by our time living in Denmark that we and Crink House Hideaways  have decided to adopt and follow in our daily lives.
